Strike A Pose...Cat-Style!

When trying to take your picture with your cat or cats...you know, the photograph that shows the love, depth, and trust of your relationship together...be prepared to take LOTS of pictures!!! :-) Some cats photograph better than others...those cats know how to sit, stretch, jump, sleep, and belly-up to the camera, you know? My Tommy-Cat is that guy.  Isis, however, holds the Aboriginal belief that my camera will steal her soul.  Bowser has always been fun to photograph ...when he was younger he was a true Humble Ham...comfy and at home with a camera...sweet, furry, and at ease...just being cat...now that he is older and a little out there in his mind (if you have an older cat you can see how they change)...he SHINES in his cat ways in front of a camera because he's fairly oblivious that it's even there, but happy to see you nevertheless :-)

Regardless of how your cat takes to being the focus of your pictures, know that all cats basically do what THEY want to do when you click that little button.  Here are some of my "out-takes" from when I was trying to get pictures to submit with my application to be the Purina Cat Chow Correspondent.

Bowser was sleeping...I figured it was a good time to capture a shot of me and him

I'm admiring how cute he is...such a sweetie-cat...I seriously dread the day when he will pass...my old guy

AHHHH!!!! He's going to kill me for waking him up!!! (hehe...Bowser is just yawning;-)

Isis protecting her soul from the clutches of the camera

Isis: "Fine I will pose, but at a price!" Yikes! Watch out boob!! Those claws are seriously done with this photo shoot!

No matter how happy you are with how YOU look in a photo with your cat...if they look pissed off that you're interupting their busy life, you just end up looking like a jerk!

I actually love this picture.  Good example in how a cat being their normal little cat selves can create an even more precious picture!

Bowser was looking right at the camera when I clicked this shot, but my old camera was ssssooooo ssssllllloooowwww that by the time is happened he was smelling my freshly washed hair.  Cats are so curious about new smells!
My photo shoot with Tommy was so easy and fun.  Tommy-cat is a true natural...I had so many great shots with him...I could tell that he was enjoying the attention...but he is a cat...so it was only a matter of time before he noticed the strap on my camera!

My Tommy suddenly turns into a BIG CAT! He looks like a Mountain Lion a little bit anyway, that nose and all, but this picture makes it a reality!
This camera strap is caught! Once he gets his paws on something his grabbies and stabbies make sure it's HIS! Mine! He only let go to sharpen his claws on the post behind him that eventually caught his attention.

Git it Boy!

Purina Cat Chow Correspondent Entry PLUS Song "I'm A Cat"

So I decided to apply to the Purina Cat Chow Correspondent position that has been circling around the cat communities online...seriously, how freakin' awesome would that be for a job! My cats only eat Purina dry food (the HUGE blue bag) and I have almost broke my neck 7 times in the attempt of giving them their daily Purina wet food...so this is a company I can stand by! The thought of talking to people who are as moved and impressed by their cats as I am would be a great way to spend my time...not to mention the chance to travel. So here is my video and below are my pics of me with Isis, Tommy, and Bowser. I will be posting outtakes soon so keep your eyes and ears open for that! Also...try and watch the whole thing...at the end is a silly little video dedicated to all the furry faces in the world!

BOWSER! (just woke up :-)

ISIS (striking a pose...she was my inspiration for the cat art in the back)

TOMMY (eating some grass...although I like to think he is smiling for the camera :-)
Check out the Purina Cat Chow Community Page...it is full of true cat lovers with wonderful pics and videos....not to mention tips!

Tommy-Cat Chasing Flowers...kinda

When Tommy is inside he is a Daddies Boy...no doubt about it! That's why I love catching him when he's outside exploring. He always seems very excited and happy to see me and will greet me with a loud meow if I don't happen to notice him first.

I got a new camera for my birthday from my partner Evan and have been having fun taking pictures and videos of Tommy.

Above is some video of him chasing after flowers...kinda.  Before I brought out the camera he was chasing every flower I tossed with the skill and determination of a dog chasing after a stick or a ball. It was so cute and I wanted to get it on tape.  After I got the camera out he indulged me a little but seemed a little bored with it. A cute video even so!

He is such a model...seriously! He knows how to work a camera and he knows he is handsome. He emotes that familiar model quality we see so often in humans: confidence and complete detachment from the wonder of his traditional good looks. Here are some pics from that same day.

He is so pro in his modeling skills that he even mastered posing with a human. :-)
